PHASE 1 – IDENTIFY INVALID, SAFE TO SEND & RISKY EMAILS

Validating Emails – Identify Invalid Addresses

The first thing we need to do is establish all of the invalid emails or dead wood that’s in the database.  This can be caused by people leaving positions, moving on, changing email address or even typo’s when the email was first collected.

Invalid emails lead to high bounce rates and high bounce rates lead to a poor email sender reputation, which, as a business, you must do everything you can to avoid, if you want to stand any chance of getting your emails seen by customers.

Therefore all invalid emails will be removed from the list which then leaves us with risky and safe to send categories.

What Are “Risky” Emails

“Catch all” Email addresses are set up at server level and are designed to receive all mail sent to your domain name that is not associated with an email address.  This can include  mis-spelt emails of current users, or messages to users that have no mailbox associated with them

The role based or generic emails such admin@, sales@, info@, orders@ etc are also considered risky and may harm your sender reputation if you have too many of them.

The final category that we need to be aware of as “Risky” are disposable emails, which are temporary emails set up for a specific reason and not monitored or used after they’ve served their purpose.

With Risky emails – we would send messaging directed at getting permission to communicate with the user and /  or an improved email address that would better suit our purposes.

Nothing to worry about with these email addresses.  The messaging we would send here will be looking to develop and nurture the relationship, making sure that all communication they receive is relevant and directed to the correct person.

PHASE 3 – DRIVE CUSTOMERS TO THE WEBSITE THROUGH A SERIES OF PRE-WRITTEN EMAILS

Through automation rules, we can remove any customer from this series as soon as they have engaged with it and opted into the new list. Therefore you can rest assured you will not be annoying the people who want to hear from you

After the 8 week period, Think New will prepare you a report detailing precisely who has engaged with the emails, updated their details or not engaged at all.

At this point you have a choice as to whether you wish to continue with your subscription to the service or whether we should export all your data and simply send you your new lists in excel or csv format
